FATCA
FATCA, enacted in 2012, is a U.S legislation which aims to combat tax evasion by U.S. persons and certain entities owned by U.S. persons. It requires foreign financial institutions to report information about financial accounts by US taxpayers or by foreign entities in which US taxpayers hold a substantial ownership interest.
